Our Impact and Community Initiatives
At our farm, we are dedicated to providing fresh, locally grown food to those in need. Through youth-led farmers markets and partnerships, we distributed nutritious produce to over 5,200 individuals and 2,000 households, ensuring greater food accessibility across our community.
First Annual “Home Beneath Our Feet”
Farm-to-Table Fundraiser
On September 28th, 2024, we hosted our First Annual Home Beneath Our Feet Farm-to-Table Dining Fundraiser. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors—East Buffalo Development Corporation, Edward J. Butler Foundation, WNY Foundation, Buffalo Center for Health Equity, Erie County Office of Health Equity, and Tops Market—we transported 100 guests from Buffalo’s East Side to HBOF Farms for an unforgettable evening of food and community. Our youth program members worked tirelessly to grow, harvest, pack, and sell produce, playing a vital role in making this event a success.
Partnering with People Inc. for Food Accessibility
We’re also excited to announce our new partnership with People Inc., delivering fresh, nutrient-dense produce to residents at their Jefferson Avenue affordable housing apartments. This collaboration was designed to improve food accessibility, providing residents with high-quality fruits and vegetables that promote healthier meal options. The community’s appreciation underscored the importance of this effort, enhancing nutrition, well-being, and a shared commitment to fostering a supportive, health-conscious neighborhood.
Together, we continue to build connections and empower our community through local food initiatives, collaborative efforts, and hands-on youth involvement.
